Hi, I’m Kirsty — a writer, tutor, performer, and legal professional based in Newcastle, on Awabakal land.
I work across law, education, and the arts, with a focus on clear communication, care, and social justice. My background spans legal research, international student exchange, hospitality, and creative performance — and I draw on all of it in my work today.
I spent over a decade working in hospitality, managing restaurants and learning how to lead teams, stay calm under pressure, and connect with people from all walks of life. I later moved into international education, coordinating exchange programs between France and Australia. This involved managing logistics, supporting students, and navigating cultural and legal frameworks across borders.
These days, I divide my time between tutoring, legal work, and creative practice. I’m currently co-authoring a book with Ellen Riley on sexual violence laws in Australia and internationally. The book is designed to support survivors as they navigate both the legal system and the broader experience of recovery. If this resonates, feel free to reach out at making.it.stop.au@gmail.com.
Alongside this, I offer private French tutoring for high school students and adults. I studied law and languages, have lived and worked in France, and now support learners to build confidence and clarity in their French.
Creatively, I perform burlesque and pole under the name Kirsty Delight, and I also work as a life model, portrait and photography model. I love exploring storytelling through movement, stillness, and visual art — and I believe creative expression is as vital as anything else we do. I’m always open to new collaborations, especially projects that bring together performance, care, and community.
